Paris is well known for being probably the most romantic city on the planet. Yet the only thing I noticed was that it’s pricey when I was there last time a couple of years ago. Again, in a couple of weeks, when Lea and I will be at Le Web we looked for an affordable but chic modern Hotel with – obvoiusly – Wifi.

We really had to search the entire web, including tripwolf, until we found out about Mama Shelter via a Next Web’s Blog post. They offer reasonably priced rooms with gorgeous interior and to the geeks adjusted room settings: iMac instead of TV, high speed Wifi, etc.

Have a look at those rooms and mouthwatering interiors by yourself and start booking your stay now.

First of all sorry for the bad audio and video quality. Since we moved into a new office over the weekend we couldn’t find a cool, but quiet place where we could shoot the intro video so we had to mover in our meeting room: Dark, bad acoustics and small. Right, it’s almost as it looks like in the video in real. Nevertheless, these circumstances didn’t stop lonesome LeWeb Cowboys Lea & Lukas from doing a first try-out video post for Le Web. Be sure to check out our upcoming stuff. Hopefully it’s not only going to be such a mess but with some helpful information on as well.

tripwolf competition

Since I am currently doing a lot of stuff for tripwolf – obviously the best, up and coming online travel guide, I wanted to let you know about a cool Competition we have currently online. In the future this competition tool could be used for even further games within the tripwolf sphere.

Saying that we are always looking for interested partners or sponsors for such things. Currenty FON kindly provided us with several Wi-fi Routers.

Another nifty thing coming up soon is the tripwolf iPhone application. This is going to be a crucial part in moving the travel guide to a mobile device. More on that as soon as we get closer to releasing it.

TRIPWOLF beta invites

We are currently undergoing a private beta phase with our new travel startup TRIPWOLF. Tripwolf is a social travel guide and trip planner for independent travel enthusiasts. tripwolf caters to the discerning traveler. It covers the whole world: There is high quality content on more than 200,000 destinations and points of interest already in the tripwolf database – and any user can add more places and information!

Although there are already tons of travel sites out there, we thought we should do another one. Why? Good question, but by going through all those sites out there, we found that we nowhere had any up-to-date and professional content! Here are some major points of tripwolf:

- wiki-approach: users can add and edit everything online!
- Knowledgable community members (“trip gurus”) on more than 100 destinations already
- personalized recommendations, taking into account the user’s social graph (the things my friends like get recommended to me)

deep integration with facebook: users can import their facebook profile and facebook friends. (They will also be able to log in with their facebook credentials once we have launched publicly)
- print your customized pdf travel guide by drag&drop (feature to be launched beginning of May)

- consistent geocoding of all locations for mobile use. An iPhone application is currently being developed.
